Gareth Davies

Senior Associate

Gareth brings over 5 years’ experience in managing programmes that identify and connect private capital with nature-based and climate opportunities. He is based in Kenya, and has experience both globally and in East Africa developing climate adaptation investment theses, conducting market and policy analyses, and building pipelines of bankable projects. Gareth has developed investment theses, reports, and project pipelines focused on improving water security in cloud forest regions, strengthening green infrastructure for coastal resilience, and transitioning to climate-resilient coffee.

Most recently, he helped a water fund in Colombia identify and mobilise investment opportunities to protect and restore cloud forests as vital water infrastructure in the Bogotá River basin, and he worked with public and private sector stakeholders in South East Queensland to finance mangrove restoration for blue carbon and coastal resilience. With The Nature Conservancy in Tanzania, Gareth facilitated the setup and organisational design of the Western Indian Ocean Reef Restoration Network to increase the network’s capacity for knowledge exchange and to access larger pools of ocean finance for regional-scale restoration.

Gareth is also a leadership and organisational development consultant, working with groups of leaders to accelerate long-term change in their system. He holds a MSc in International Business Development.
